One notable addition is the use of variable valve timing, a feature also shared with Mazda's version of the engine. It is available in 2.0 L, 2.5 L and 3.0 L displacements. Jaguar's AJ-V6 engine has an aluminium engine block and aluminium DOHC cylinder heads. It uses SFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with VVT, features fracture-split forged powder metal connecting rods and a one-piece cast camshaft and has direct-acting mechanical bucket (DAMB) tappets, these design aspects differentiating the AJ-V6 from the Ford and Mazda versions. Each engine features a parallel sequential turbo boosting system that provides immediate response at low engine speeds, with low specific and transient fuel consumption. And while these three world-class engines offer tremendous performance, they also deliver fuel economy of up to 42mpg/6.8 litres per 100km for the combined cycle with a CO2 emissions performance of just 179g/km. 5.0 LITRE NATURALLY ASPIRATED V8 PETROL The naturally-aspirated 385PS 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol sees a striking step-up in performance. Power output soars by 29 per cent over its predecessor delivering a 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds (0-100kph in 5.7 seconds), but without affecting either fuel efficiency (25.4 mpg/11.1 litres per 100km) or exhaust emissions (264g/km). Variable Camshaft Timing and Camshaft Profile Switching optimise efficiency at low and high speeds and deliver strong low speed torque. 5.0 LITRE SUPERCHARGED V8 PETROL - XFR The direct-injection 5.0 Litre V8 Supercharged engine produces a remarkable 510PS - enough to launch the new XFR from zero to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds (0-100kph in 4.9 seconds). With its semi-active exhaust the new XFR produces a pulse-racing growl to match its stellar performance. Its advanced direct injection system and latest generation supercharger provide efficient power delivery: fuel economy of 22.5mpg/12.5 litres per 100km and a CO2 emissions performance of only 292g/km.
