driving her round Silverstone last summer at the E Types 50th birthday anniversary in the Classic Car weekend. She goes well and just turns all the heads. I spent ages looking for one and this colour, the Opalescent Blue is simply stunning. More photos showing more detail inside and out will be loaded at the weekend. Paperwork goes back to the early 90`s with a Classic Jaguar valuation equal to £19,000 in 1990. The same Jaguar specialist had it in their workshop in 1992 for several months where it was completely overhauled and in their words was "stripped to bare metal with all glass and trims removed". When stripped the only poor parts were one doorskin and a rear quarter panel which were replaced. The whole car was re-sprayed in cellulose in its original colour. Seats were re-trimmed. The car was owned by a doctor for these years and looking at the history and mileage recorded, she has done only 8000 miles since 1990. I also have the original Certificate of Title from July 1968 - she has clearly been cherished and needs a loving owner. Best offer will secure this beauty. Any questions please ask. It is a nice daily driver in need of a little cosmetic improvement but freshly Mot`d and ready to go. 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine 150 mph performance Four-speed manual transmission. The first significant upgrade of Jaguar`s sensational E-Type sports car occurred in October 1964 with the launch of the 4.2-liter version. Along with the bigger, torquier engine came a more user-friendly gearbox with synchromesh on first gear, and a superior Lockheed brake servo. The car`s external appearance was largely unchanged, but under the skin there were numerous detail improvements. These mainly concerned the cooling and electrical systems, the latter gaining an alternator and adopting the industry standard negative ground, while the interior boasted a matte black dashboard and improved seating arrangements. The top speed of around 150mph remained unchanged, the main performance gain being improved acceleration. Like its 3.8-liter predecessor, the 4.2-liter E-Type was built in roadster and coupe forms, and in 1966 gained an additional 2+2 coupe variant on a 9" longer wheelbase. In 1968 all three versions of the E-Type underwent major revision to comply with US safety and emissions legislation, emerging in `Series II` guise minus the original`s distinctive headlight covers. In addition, enlarged side and rear lights were adopted while a thickened front bumper center section bridged a larger radiator intake. Interior changes included a collapsible steering column and rocker switches in place of the earlier toggles. Interior: Our car is finished in Black Leather and is in a nice useable condition. The carpets are fine and the car has four point harnesses fitted. All the instruments seem to work as they should. Exterior: Our car is finished in its original colour of Primrose Yellow and whilst the paint is good, there are a few cosmetic blemishes and also a couple of larger dents in the side of the car. The wheels and tyres are good and the chrome is good. Mechanical: The car has a new MOT and drives how it should with a strong engine and nice gear change. Summary: This is a genuine UK RHD SII Roadster finished in its original combination of Yellow with Black and is a nice daily driver. It is incorrectly marked as a 67 on the V5 but is actually a 1970 model. I drove past this on the way home from selling my car - and bought it lol.I still need an estate, and realistically cant afford to run 2 cars, but this is such a great drive, I will be sad to see it go, especially moving onto an estate :( ebay wont allow swap for diesel estate?The Good:Full leather (drivers side bolster is worn - see pics)Looks stunning for a 12 year old car - a true modern classic.Starts first time everytime.All the extras you would expect.Sport mode - Great - altho juicy lolPair of new front tyresDoesn`t smoke Nice kick downCruise controlNice alloysJust had new headlight bulbs (main beam)Not used any liquids since I bought it - (excluding petrol and screen wash of course)Battery is greatSmooth comfortable drive.aftermarket touch screen radio - tv / dvd player etc.. No Warranty is implied or given.Tyres all very good (fronts bought new under about 2 months ago and tracking/alignment done at the same time).Fob works fineFull V5Tax end of may - MOT end of AugustBad Points:150`000 milesVery small chip on windscreen (not in drivers view)Paintwork looks good overall - but there is a couple of scuffs low down and age related marks - see picsAlloys are good overall, but it looks like a monkey tried to take the nuts off on one of the wheels - see picsBoot not shut warning on computer (when shut and locked) - this is a red warning on computer - sometimes recognises it as shut - sometimes doesnt. (red warning goes out when boot shut) Red light because this is an alarm fault - alarm flashes 5 times when set if boot not shut - still works but disregards boot as an entry point I believe. (alarm has sounded whilst I`ve owned it with this fault)Passenger front window doesnt work (it clicks - but doesnt move motor gone? stuck closed)The centre ashtray cover is snapped off, it does sit in place but the clip is broken.The electric mirror controls are faulty - the controls do nothing inside the car - the mirrors themselves work if you manually set the mirrors then set the memory the memory will reposition mirrors if out of place.Bit of a Creak from left hand side of car in deep potholes (think rear shock maybe - not had it checked not all that noticeable - doesnt affect drive)- but generally the suspension feels good, tracking good etc..Ticking under slightly when warm .. not lumpy .. just sits barely above 500 when warm and idle - in drive(700 is apparently normal for this car) I knock it into neutral if stopping for any period of time (idles at 700 in neutral) - feels like it might stall.. it hasnt tho.When warm and at low revs ( under 2k) it sounds a bit ticky/tappety sometimes - a quick hard rev and it goes away.Only 1 key.No HistoryPrice has some room for negotiation, it`s not a perfect car, but it starts first time, drives well, has tax and MOT and looks good - is comfortable, smooth has plenty of power etc..ready to drive away and is already MUCH cheaper than most Jag S types on Ebay - so dont expect a big shift in price. I do about a 50/50 mix of motorway / town driving it has never stopped or broken down on me etc.. around 500 miles a week. We have looked after the car for the past 4 years, and have written permission to sell, and the buyer will be in contact with Mrs Goddard. The car is an older restoration, and the body is still in fantastic shape. We fitted and new lower bonnet pan last year, and a door was repaired a few years ago. This is not a concours car, but an E that is built to use and enjoy. Mr Goddard built the car for continental cruises and as a fast road car. The engine is built by Sigma Engineering and is now producing 281 BHP and 348 lbs/ft torque. This makes for a very rapid car! 123 electronic ignition, electric cooling fans, Classic Fabs straight through stainless exhaust are all additions within the last 18 months. The car sits on new Dayton 72 spoke wire wheels. The diff is fully rebuild, with fully powder coated and detailed rear suspension within the past 2 years. Uprated torsion bars, Gaz adjustable dampers all round. The brakes are upgraded to Coopercraft. The interior is in lovely original condition. This car is very pretty to look at - and an absolute joy to drive. Built to use, it will blast around a track, or potter around town at 20mph. MOT November, tax end December, tidy, drives well. now onto the detailed listing ... We`re a small company selling good quality cars and light vans here on eBay. We appreciate its very daunting buying vehicles on eBay, so we don`t ask for upfront deposits and you can walk away without any obligation or hard feelings if you don`t like the car when you come to pick it up. Current owner has had the car since 2009 MOT – 7 November 2012. Advisory notes slight play in o/s rear top arm bush and rack. Tax – until 31 December. So you must assume its overdue a service. I`m happy to warrant the mileage as correct (as we have old MOT print from VOSA) HPI status – clear, never been written off, no o/s finance, not stolen etc. Reg is WP02VYH if you`d like to confirm it yourself. Spare key – no, just the one key. Tyres – All four tyres are matching make and age. Good tread around 60-70% remaining. The spare is a space saver. Alloys are in decent nick. Condition :- Bodywork is in really good condition given the age and mileage There are no large dents, scratches, rust etc. Things to note are a scuff on the front bumper, nearside corner and a large stone chip on the bonnet same corner just above the main beam light. Light scuff on the offside corner of the rear bumper and a small dent on the drivers door (it is shallow but has broken the paint, lacquer off on one place as well – see photo). All of this is very minor this is a very presentable car, better than most at this age. We understand that buying from eBay is hard enough, so we believe in trying to give as much detailed information about our cars in the listing as we can, including any bad points, or damage. Just because we choose to mention defects up front, doesn’t mean that all ebay sellers do. So please bear this in mind when comparing vehicles which only mention good points. Remember there isn`t a used car in whole world which doesn`t have a few marks and the odd squeak! Interior is in similarly good condition. Its all complete and working, but it needs a good valet! Interior is full leather in good nick, only obvious damage is a tear on the centre console arm rest. No pet hairs, no cigarettes, so not horrible. The electric memory seats, windows, mirrors, heater etc all work as they should and the air con / climate control works its cold and there is cd changer in the boot. Only thing we`ve not tested is the phone which requires a sim. Please note we store our eBay cars on the family farm, so please don`t expect forecourt standards of valeting and polishing. On the road :- It drives as it should, engine is quiet, no nasty noises or smoke. Auto box works fine, including in manual and sport. No warning lights on. So there you have it. A lot of very tidy Jag for not a lot of money. Leather all the toys (working), long tax and test, good tyres. This is an extremely reluctant sale and priced for a fast, hassel free sale. When my mother was looking for an S-type last year we viewed about 8 cars before finding this beauty with only 31,000 miles on the clock, she paid £4000 which was nothing for a Jaguar in new condition that had only been run-in. It was owned by an older gentleman who used it as his second `special occasion` car and owned it from new. He looked after it very well, only used jaguar products (including Jaguar screenwash). He told us if ever it was parked in a car park he would take up two spaces or park right at the back, to reduce the risk of a car park dent, and this has worked. There are a couple of marks, but no dents or scratches. There is slight age related corrosion on some of the alloys but never has been curbed and the rim of the alloys are immaculate. The tyres are Pirelli P6000 in good condition. The leather seats were cleaned and conditioned every 4 months with Autoglym and we have continued that tradition since our ownership. The colour is in Lazurite metalic blue and when the sun hits the paint it looks fantastic.If you are in the market for one of these Jaguars you wont find better for this money. Sure you can get the same age S type for half this price, but it probably would have been neglected, abused and due to have a lot of money spending on it. A false economy some might say.I wont witter on about its features, it has electric memory everything. for two cars on the drive.The Jag has been a fantastic car to own, smooth, comfortable, luxurious and fairly quick for the size of it. Has service history from the garage I bought it from, and a new battery and 4 new Pirelli tyres were fitted just before I picked it up. Very reliable car.Only downsides are that the paint on the wheels has seen better days, along with a few scratches and marks on the bodywork, does look very good after a wash though. Also, the engine management light is on, have had a diagnostic check done and all it is is a lambda sensor. Apparently it is a common problem with these and the car still runs spot on so I haven`t had this done. All in all it is a very good car for the money.Cheers. Any questions don`t hesitate to ask. These modern common-rail diesel engines really are fantastically efficient, which also results in some very reasonable tax costs. This 2.2 S model meets the Euro4 standards which means it produces just 159g/km of carbon emissions (to illustrate precisely how impressive this is, a 2005 1.4 Ford Fiesta produces 153g). In real terms, this means you will pay just £165 for a full year`s tax or £90.75 for six months. It is even VAT qualifying on top too, so if you are registered for VAT the savings stack up even higher. And you get to save all this money while driving a fantastic car, with genuinely enviable performance and all the time wallowing in the refined luxury that only a Jaguar can deliver. With this having been a company car since new, with a full Jaguar service history to boot, that peerless driving experience will not be interrupted by any mechanical fault whatsoever. Cosmetically, there is barely a mark anywhere on the car, either inside or out - just take a look at the photos below to see for yourself. Description Model HistoryThe E-Type was initially designed and shown to the public as a rear-wheel drive grand tourer in two-seater coupé form (FHC or Fixed Head Coupé) and as convertible (OTS or Open Two Seater). The 2+2 version with a lengthened wheelbase was released several years later. On its release Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made". The model was made in three distinct versions which are now generally referred to as "Series 1", "Series 2" and "Series 3". A transitional series between Series 1 and Series 2 is known unofficially as "Series 1½"Interior & EquipmentBeautiful original seats with restored navy leather and brand new carpet set throughout. The series 1 dashboard is excellent with all original clocks and gauges working perfectly as they should. Door cards and all trim are original and in excellent condition. All the brightwork is outstanding and much of it original parts. The glass is very good all round. Panel fit and door closure is very good and she sits beautifully. The beautiful sound is through a full stainless steel exhaust system. She starts on the button first time every time and has excellent oil pressure.
