in family circumstances. It was registered on 1st September 1999 on a V plate, but I have had a private plate added which will be included in the sale of the car, the plate is T666 HOB. The car is in excellent condition and past the mot with no advisories for the past few years; the mot runs out on July 19th 2011, the tax runs out at the end of February 2011. When I bought the car I had a comprehensive HPI check done to make sure everything was in order, and the check came back completely clear. The XJR is the owners choice of Jaguar cars, with its 4 litre supercharged engine which produces 370bhp, 387 lb/ft of torque, top speed limited to 155mph and a 0 – 60 time of just 5.3 seconds. All this is done with the help of the automatic gearbox, which is the same gearbox that is fitted in the Mercedes AMG E55, which constantly changes the gear selection points depending on your current style of driving. To give the best possible grip when driving on the roads, the car has been fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 at a cost of £250 per tyre. The car comes with the leather bound service file and service book, stamped with 11 Jaguar service stamps; the last service was completed by an independent specialist and is not due another service for 4000 miles. When the XJR went into production, the pre-2000 engines had a Nikasil coating on the aluminium bores that where prone to degradation, which affected the compression on the car. In 2003, Paramount Jaguar, Cardiff, replaced the engine in my car due to this issue. It was replaced with a new, zero mile, third revision engine, which not only has the steel lining, but also the metal tensioners, so this engine is not affected by the Nikasil issue. The engine was replaced at 48,285, meaning the engine to date has only done 66,000 miles, the car speedometer reads 114,000 miles, a combination of the old and new engines. The car is in fantastic condition both inside and out. The ride quality in the XJR is extraordinary, a smooth engine, the car’s soundproofing, deep carpets, wood and leather trim inside, not forgetting the leather seats. The car also comes complete with the factory fitted Jaguar/ Motorola mobile phone, which is used via the cars radio / speakers and steering wheel controls. I have taken as shown as many photos as I can to show you how good the car is. The external photos show the car in all its glory, and the multi photos show all four alloy wheels and the inside of the car. a full Jaguar service history from new, and has been maintained regardless of cost. It is a pleasure both to drive and to look at. The interior is in perfect condition, as is the exterior. There is very minor scuffing in places on the alloys, the worst of which is shown in the zoomed pictures of the wheel, and a very small mark on the rear bumper, also zoomed in on in the pictures. Other than that I can honestly say this car is immaculate. Viewing is welcomed and recommended. Whilst the car has the power when you need to accelerate, it isn`t too bad on fuel when on a run. There is a full Jaguar service history until July 2007 with all work completed by H A Fox of Cheltenham, I have a detailed print out showing the mileage and the work completed from new until this date. In addition I have a large number of receipts from the previous owner dating from 2003. Since owning the car I have used 2 local Jaguar specialists for service and repair work. With the last work completed by Auto Classico Ltd this included a full service, the replacement of the front discs and pads and the potentially problematic timing chain tensioners with the latest items. this cost £1186.00 and was completed at 70,578 miles in July 2009. So it is due its annual service. (effectively an oil change) Current mileage, 73030. This is a genuine verifiable mileage using service history and receipts. When I purchased the car it had unfortunately been flooded and has a result the insurance company had declared it a total loss “Cat C” This is when the cost to repair is identified as higher than the value of the vehicle. The car was flooded to a level of the seat squabs, no water entered the engine. I completed a detailed repair, stripping the interior of the vehicle (Photos available to prove) and replaced a range of modules and motors, in addition the carpets were replaced seats and door panels received a full valet. The interior of the car was cleaned including the boot with an antiseptic wash (just in case) I have included photographs of the interior which show that the leather (in fact the whole) interior is spotless and does not have any wear cracking etc. Whilst the interior was out I identified that the floor pan on both sides was suffering from corrosion (this is a known problem) all of the rotten material was removed and new material welded in place together with a replacement strengthening plate. Again I have photos to show this work. After approximately 200 hours work the car was re commissioned, I then took it to a Jaguar specialist who checked that all of the replacement/repair work was correct and that all faults were cleared. As a precaution I then had a service and then had the gearbox oil replaced, again this is a recommendation that you will find in all magazine or forum discussions about the car, this cost lots as the oil supplied from Jaguar was £23.80 per litre and they used 7 litres. The car was looking really good after this work with the exception of the headlights, so I replaced both headlights with new units. Since completing this work I have used the car and covered just under 10,000 miles, it has been used as a third car high days holidays and special occasions, it is a joy to drive. Specification: Coupe, Cream leather interior, with fully electrically adjustable seats, lumbar support, heated seats, Cruise control, Sport mode, Auto dimming mirrors, electrically adjustable steering column (this park’s when keys are removed) Climate control the air conditioning element is good and brings cabin temp down quickly, elec windows, central locking, alarm Stability control, traction control, power mirrors, nearside mirror adjust for reversing, trip computer, PAS, ABS. Rear parking sensors, Fog lights,18” Flute Alloys. Radio cassette. Pirelli Tyres all round all good Tax to November and Mot until 29th November the car will come with 12 months MOT at the time of sale. The car is in very good condition all round, however it is not new and there are a few faults, it has memory settings for the driver’s seat mirror and steering column, the mirrors and steering column work but the seat does not. I have been told that although I replaced the seat module with the correct part number that they used the same module part number on both memory and non memory. As all other elements of this function work I assume it is the module (not changed it as once the seat is in position I have not moved it, no one else drives the car) The alloys are OK but do have some small marks, if I were keeping the car I would have them re-finished (see pictures) there are some small stone chips on the front of the car but extremely small and only as you would expect for the age and mileage (however you need to know) please check the photos and see if you can find them (I said they were small) and finally the cover on the passenger side vanity mirror broke last time I used the car and has to be held up whilst applying lipstick etc. Why am I selling, well having my 2nd crisis and purchased a small hot hatch I now have 4 cars and a number of motorbikes, and have finally had to admit that I do not have the room for them all. I have tried to find alternative accommodation for the Jag but in the end it would be a waste to store it as I hardly use my other cars and it would just never be used. The space and cash could be better used. I will say that after owning a number of sports cars this has been a great car, everyone loves it and you always feel special when you drive it. The price reflects the fact the car is a cat C and not the condition, indeed I have invested a lot of cash into this car which you may benefit form if you purchase it. I have no desire to swap or exchange, and I am not interested in any silly offers. The start price and buy it now reflect the fact that I see this is a bargain already. Please note I will expect that on completion the buyer will collect within 7 days and would also expect a deposit of £200 by PayPal as a gesture of goodwill, immediately on completion of the auction. The outstanding balance must be paid in cash on collection. run.For the size of car though this is pretty good, it returns the equivalent of around 26-30mpg on gas or more on a decent run. The car was originally P767NRW which is a preproduction model which was owned by Jaguar and was featured in all of the top gear / autocar etc tests when it was new back in 1997. I have pictures and the videos (as linked) of Clarkson driving this car and reviewing it - could be a great collection piece for the future for any top gear / Clarkson / Jaguar fan. At that time I also had the chassis/underbody/underarches protected with waxoyl to stop any rust forming - I was planning on keeping this car for a long while. It had rear tyres not too long ago and these are still fine with loads of tread, the fronts should have a few thousand miles left in them too. It was checked for nikasil issues when I got it and it was fine, I also did a compression test and all cylinders were fine (I may have the figures written down somewhere if needed), In the history which came with the car there is a receipt for the upgraded tensioners etc as well so no issues with them giving up as they can on early cars.It has a couple of small parking dents on the doors and a bit of lacquer peel on the rear wing (photos avaliable on request), apart from that it`s in great condition, the paint and chrome shines up nicely although I would say perhaps the chrome shows a little of its age if you look closely, the wheels are all good with no kerbing marks, interior is nice, not even very much wear on the driver`s seat bolster like these normally seem to have, all the other seats are like new.Returns around 200 miles on a tank of gas which costs about £30, and once on gas you really can`t tell (its a bit lumpy whilst switching over which lasts for a couple of seconds). The gas tank is in the spare wheel well and holds about 56 litres, I just leave the spare wheel in the boot but you could easily leave it in the garage and carry a can of tyre weld if you need the boot space. LPG system was installed March last year and has a warranty until March 2011.The only downside that I can think of is within the past week the kick down has stopped working so if you are cruising and press the accelerator it doesn`t seem to kick down the gears, I think it`s either the switch under the pedal or the throttle position sensor, nothing wrong with the engine or box though as it pulls up through the gears nicely from standstill, if I get time I`ll take it in and have it looked at.Advertised at what I feel is a fair price for a vehicle with LPG and good history, you could also sell the current plate for a few hundred (valued at £595 by regtransfers not so long ago) to get it back to its former plate with the history behind it.MOT and tax run out around Feb 2011 I`ve been 100% honest here and described the good and the bad, I`d always prefer it is people would come and view though to make sure I havent forgotten anything. and grey piping interior, This car is totally Mint throughout. 1989/F with 98,000 miles Tax and MOT. Totally rust free and NO FILLER.. I bought this car back in February this year as a classic daily driver, that needed a little work. But once I started i found many areas of rust not very heavy but never the less I wanted it to look nice until it ended up as a full body renovation, this was all done professionally at a huge cost as you can imagine, all of the wings and inner wings are perfect, with many NEW Genuine Jaguar panels, the only second hand pannels used were the boot lid and bonnet, as it was easier to change these to good solid ones rather than to repair the areas with the risk of them coming through again. The whole car is totally rust free and has a mirror finish paintwork totally unmarked with not one scratch stone chip or blemish anywhere as I have hardly driven it since the renovation. The original pepperpot wheels have also been refurbished and will be put back on the car, all of the brightwork has been replaced to match the fabulous body, good front bumper and grille. This is not a filler job.. " brand new genuine Jaguar front wings, along with all new inner wing pannels and ventilation tubing all new from Jaguar, New front vallence, some minor welding was required and had a specialist fabricator do this so it was perfect, and a second hand bootlid and bonnet fitted as the old ones were rusty. All of the panels were properly prepared by myself and took a day to paint all the inner sides of each of the new panels with smooth hammerite spray paint for extra protection. The doors had some slight corrosion to the bottom edges as usual,they were not bad at all, just started to go, all now perfect. The interior is all original and un restored, but looks as new, it hasnt even been cleaned yet and looks fabulous, the wood trim is one of the best original examples that I have seen although i did replace the dashboard as the original one had started to go white in places and the top of the dash had some slight cracking, all in good order now, as the dasboard was out all of the bulbs have been replaced so all working nice and bright. I have also replaced the front struts with brand new gas shcoks the car sits perfect and the suspension all round is perfect, I have brand new wishbones but have not been fitted yet, both fuel tanks work and switch over fine, I am also having these removed and cleaned and still currently undergoing mechanial and electrical renovation. It just has some minor faults lazy windows, central locking and radio cassete so these are being adressed right now with a Jaguar specialist, who has praised me on such a fine example. The reason I am selling it is because it is far too good as a daily driver, I am too scared to drive it now in case it gets scratched and I do not have a garage to keep it in.. As you can imagine this car stands me in a small fortune. I am looking for a quick sale as I do not want this sat on my driveway and would like someone who will appreciate it, hence I will be happy with any sensible offers..
