2007. It has only had 2 previous owners: The first owner a Director of a Building Company,kept the Car for 15 years & sold it in 2003. the 2nd owner A local gentleman from my Village, he had it serviced by the local Jaguar Specialist Derek Bullimore, who was an ex Jaguar-trained Technician. He kept it for 4 years & used it occasionally, mainly odd weekends only. The personal Plate came with the Car when I bought it, (the 2nd owners Initials), but of course D18 JPS IS A NICE SHORT NUMBER (JOHN PLAYER SPECIAL ?? ). There are several Number Plate Dealers, which have offered to sell it & return me between £850 & £1200, but nothings happened yet, so I cant be bothered with it & it can stay on the Car! Years ago I used to love them, But not any more. The original Number Plate was actually an `F ` prefix number, which could be reclaimed for the Sovereign if you sell the Number, making this a cheap classic Jaguar... | I live near Deal in Kent. no canvassers,dodgy Drafts etc. Cash sale, no scammers. | I got the Car in July 2007, almost 5 years ago, in need of some remedial attention, which I have mainly done myself ,where possible, the respray was done elsewhere. My annual mileage has been very low indeed, as the Car, has been kept in my garage most of the time is only used rarely, mainly as a Hobby car is what it has been for me. I used to worked in Car restoration, but now have bad problems with my joints & cant do servicing repairs any more, so the time for a boring modern car is upon me! Where I live is very rural & in the winter we are always snowed in, so a 4x4 X type is what I shall get to replace this. | Sadly the 2nd owner lost the full history file when he was moving House (the time that I got the Car from him), but I have a Vosa MOT check & verification, I understand it may be possible to recover service details prior to the 2nd owner via Jaguar, but its of little importance now as its almost 24 years old. However here is just some of what I have done, which I have kept a big file of with most Bills, its a thick File! | I replaced the Bonnet & Bootlid as these early cars had Rust issues with them & fitted perfect rust free ones from a later 94 model. also the Bumpers were fully dismantled & reassembled with good chrome parts. The Wheels & Tyres originally, were the Metric versions, which the Tyres are now £200+ EACH, IF you can get them!, they were discarded & 16" Later Jaguar Sport Wheels with 225/55 X 16" Tyres are fitted Michelins at the front Pirellis at the rear. The offside rear Wheelarch & Sill end was the only real Body rust, I fitted a new wheel arch & Sill-end section & blended it in & sprayed it. Its a perfect fit & match & the MoT tester said a few weeks back, thats the nicest Arch/Sill repair he had seen! (I have photos of the repair prior to painting it) | The lower part of the Car was resprayed about 3 years ago by a local chap, the Top is all original, paint matches nicely. its appearance is overall excellent, but its not perfect, but better than most you will find. the side indicator repeaters are also uprated to LED versions, which are far better & brighter too, as the originals let in water,look horrible & are expensive. I have also fitted brighter Xenon headlamp Bulbs (road legal ones) It also has 2 brand new Front Bulb failure Modules fitted. The bulb warning lamp still shines though, because the LED repeater lamps are fitted. It has a ***** Fosgate Cd player fitted which works fine & 6 new speakers, all in the original speaker housings.also the electric Aerial has been renewed & works perfectly. A NEW Drivers Door handle is fitted with new Keys too. The central Locking & electric windows all operate as they should. Genuine Jaguar Headlamp perspex Protecter Covers are fitted too, to save the expense of stones breaking the Headlamps. The Grille is in stainless steel woven mesh, as used on the XJR Models, There is a NEW genuine Jaguar Spring loaded mascot fitted to the Bonnet.. The engine & Gearbox run nicely, & the Car uses no oil or water, & starts first time & idles sweetly. no engine noises or smoke.. The Interior is Doeskin or light Barley, I think, with NO WEAR or TEARS to the seats or Carpets. Jaguar lambs wool Rugs are fitted in the rear. The original mint Jaguar Toolkit is complete, the spare wheel is a basic wheel & Tyre that is road legal. | *** The 2 Badges fitted to the GRILLE are not included in the sale, they will go onto my next Car! *** | also I have fitted a later Headlining, to replace the sagging & distorted original one from an X300 model which is much much nicer. This needs its velour covering re-glueing really, but it doesnt really notice & as it has a couple more Trim items than the original version that hold it up in place. It is simple to re-glue but I cant do that sort of thing now, so its a job to tackle on a nice day!. The air conditioning does needs to be recharged, it was blowing very cold when I got the Car, but small mileage use means its gradually got warmer & now doesnt blow freezing air. This will mean a conversion to the new gas, as the old type is no longer available, re-charging & new seals etc & a Purge & re-charge if you want ice cold aircon. I have changed the oil & filter a few times, also a new Distributor Cap & Rotor arm are fitted. but Ive only done a few thousand miles in nearly 5 years. also it has had Brake pads & discs that havnt covered much mileage. The front suspension anti-roll Bar & Bushes has been renewed & uprated with a Jaguar Sport one from a 1995 4.0 sport, so it doesnt wallow. You will notice that it has a nice wood/alloy Mota-Lita Steering Wheel with a jaguar Logo fitted too, these are £150 upwards . The Dashboard & Door Trim Wood has mostly been replaced with Turned Alloy sheet ,also an Alloy Gear Knob is fitted. At the rear it has Big-Bore Stainless Tailpipe trims, also a rear Bootlid infill panel from the last of this model Sports versions,along with a small union jack Flag Badge at each rear wing end. !. It has recently had a good quality NEW BATTERY too, & lots lots more to say, but. Youll have to come & see it if your interested & we`ll go from there. | .
